Skydiving Survey

A little blanket message that I hope you can help me with.

As you may or may not know I'm doing a masters degree and am now in the 'got to get my research done' part of my dissertation

As such here are a couple of links

Potential Skydivers

Current & Former Skydivers

I'd be most grateful if you wonderful people could pass this round to all and sundry who've ever have or ever wanted to jump out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft, or of course to anyone who might know someone who wants / wanted to!

Thanks in advance

A grand day out (but not much cheese!)
Well that was fun!

After the train excitement I got to London 6 1/2 hrs before the wedding so I walked from St Pancras to Bow, which got interesing reactions from most, and then met the groom in the hotel which was base camp for most.

Wedding was good, if a little evangelical for my tasted but being an agnostic that's not going to help at a church service!

Went to the Knight's Templar for the reception but due to a communication error only got there for the speeches so a group of us sloped off to get some dinner.

All good fun then I arranged to get a lift back to Sheffield in the morning (actually left at 11:55 in the end) and save myself from getting the coach and having to walk back from Meadowhell at 2:45 in the am.

So then it was the fun of finding somewhere to crash. I went back to the hotel with everyone else (This is a small place - less than 20 rooms) and pretended to be an insomniac watching the TV all night. Got about 3 hrs sleep in total but at 6am one of the porters starts asking what's wrong with your room - I made my excuses and left! Wandered round till a newsagents opened then sat on a bench till a cafe opened!

All in all a fun day!

The joy of trains
Just a quick post from the train...

The wrong one because I got here for the 5 o'clock one and not sure what to do with tickets put my card in a machine which promptly broke down swallowing it! Thankfully the nice staff got me on the next train which gets in 40 minutes after the one I should have got. Would have been nice to have the extra hour and sixteen minutes in bed!

Looking forward to a fun day in the smoke and a enjoyable wedding (Wayne & Natalie)

RIP little van

I sold my van on ebay - great I thought. Until I tried to start it this morning to sell on and nothing happened. I tried jumping it from the espace and little else. Strangely the bloke from Morpeth who came to get it wasn't best pleased and turned round and got back on the train.

So my first sale will have negative feedback and I'll need some help moving the van (which is currently sat with hazzards on in the middle of the cemetary car park)

'New' wheels
Bought a new car, it's an Espace, which means we have lots of seating space or lots of cargo space should any trip requiring such needs to be uindertaken!

There are a few issues such as door opening but compared with a nearly clutchless van that's not too bad!

Arrrrrrgh! Another Rackham

My pirate name is:

Black Roger Rackham

Like anyone confronted with the harshness of robbery on the high seas, you can be pessimistic at times. You have the good fortune of having a good name, since Rackham (pronounced RACKem, not rack-ham) is one of the coolest sounding surnames for a pirate. Arr!

An interesting result?

I'm thinking I should talk to Glen!

But I could get to blow things up.... hmmm... explosives.

Not destined to be a civil servant but my first degree would appear to be the right sort of thing.

Messing about in the garden
Been messing about in the garden again and with the help of geckoqueen , who I assisted in procrastination, we have created this:

It should also be noted that we saw a frog already in situ (ish) so the wildlife should be queuing up shortly.

Your Score: Pugsley Addams!

Our test has determined that you possess
60% Hellbentness, 34% Sanguinity, and 62% Creeps!
Well done!

Our smart-n-sassy little test has determined that your Proto-Goth Icon Match(tm) is Pugsley Addams!

Pugsley is the son of Gomez and Morticia Addams. A chip off the headman's block. he is a short, squat boy who resembles his uncle Fester, only Pugsley has hair. Pugsley is fond of his striped t-shirt and shorts and is rarely seen wearing anything different. Few words escape his lips as he is more inclined to communicate via his actions. He is a fast learner and has picked up his uncle's love of explosives. Pugsley is a very retrospective child and is not quite sure where he fits into the world. He even has tried his hand at joining the Boy Scouts! Pugsley loves animals. His pets include Aristotle, the octopus and Fang, the Jaguar, as well as Kitty Kat, the lion. His favorite hobby is to play "Guinea Pig" to Wednesdays strange game ideas, such as "Is there a God?"

Pugsleys greatest attributes are a sense of fun, loyalty to his sister, and thoughtfulness. At age 10, he is the older of the two Addams children, and greatly admires his father and his Great-Uncle Fester. Likewise, those two adult role models see a grand future for Pugsley - provided that he doesn't get caught.

If I had a cirarette I'd be smoking right now!
So happy birthday from Scottish Power is to take money from the joint account without saying / emailing / any other form of communication. Thus when the charges appear on the account for going overdrawn even though we're getting the money back off SP they will be paying them, oh yes they shall. WANK! (this was the situation after extended angry voiced phones call with SP and Natwest)

Meanwhile have started one essay after getting more books out of the library than i ever have before. Should pass this time!

p.s. if anyone does find that million quid falling at their feet I could do with a penny or two myself!

Oh bugger!

Well I cocked up there didn't I. Got two 37's and a 35 in my modules (anyone saying 'Well if you'd not done X, Y or Z' or 'Well you should have done A, B or C' will get a smack in the chops) So I've got to do three more assignments, very much like the ones i've already done (but with more time spent in the library, or even some time as opposed to none). At the same time I should be doing my dissertation, but I may have to defer that but I don't want to.

Popped into the tutors office to organise some meetings for next monday and was told that the main reason I failed one was probably down to the lack of background theory, too much of my own opinion.

Oh well, such is life!

Still having a birthday / engagement / in house a year party on the 15th (starting around 2pm) so see everyone here then if not before.

Garden bliss?!?
So we came home on sunday to find that the neighbours on both sides had had their gardens cleared by the builders. In the process of this the corner by the fence and the crap wall (which we had told the site manager didn't matter if it fell over) had fallen down. Thus a quick bit of rebuilding and once again the garden is 'done'.

There is still a bit of planting to do but this was actually helped by the demoltion to one side!

The main bit of amusement which prompted the post however is the fact that the neighbours up the hill have currently got her mother digging over the soil while they watch from the grandure of their decking! Lazy bastards!

Meanwhile I put an external extention by the back door (on a plug not wired into the mains) and put a sink near the BBQ. The idea of this is that it can be filled with ice and used as a beer chiller at parties.

Still avoiding doing my discertation!

Another reason for the 1st of July party
Now all of the respective family members have been told I am free to announce that geckoqueenand myself are officially engaged since I bought her a ring and everything!

As such the 'We've been in the house 1 year' party on the 1st of July will also be an engagement party.

After spending the last three days with a support bandage round my left wrist my subconcious again must have thought 'that's not enough'

So today I dropped a bit of greenhouse glass sideways onto my left index finger. There is an interesting gash in the side of it now!

Ho hum, still kicking!

An even harder jigsaw!
I obviously sub-consciously decided that the greenhouse was too easy a jigsaw - I put my foot through three panes of glass! Oh well thanks to the joy of superglue we now have a roof and most of a wall in place!

ION: Having ranted at everyone to attend my birthday party It turns out I wont be able to make the first arrangement in the list of things - Glen's birthday - as me and geckoqueenwill be visiting her dad for his birthday.

I'm sure I was going to make further comments but i've forgotten what it was. I have to look through some uni work now

Big jigsaw!
Today I have been playing in the garden with a lot of bits of greenhouse. I cleared a space at the end of the garden in the big pile of crap and baring further rain interruptions should have the structure ready for cementing putting glass in etc by the end of the day.

Back to the grind for uni tomorrow with a project meeting at 9:30 then til friday to get the whole thing done. Yay last minute!

Just watching Lost now and then a bit of dinner, chicken, spinach and other things..
